Meet The Team

Geo

Founder & Director

Geo began her dance journey as a child at Mandy Morris School of Dance, training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Commercial. Her passion for teaching grew early on, inspired by her mum, Hayley, who taught at the ballet school. Geo was helping choreograph and assist classes from as young as seven years old. She continued her training at Rubicon Dance College on the full-time dance course, and later progressed to London to study at Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she achieved a First Class Honours degree in Contemporary Dance.

In 2018, Geo discovered her love for teaching heels. She was drawn to how the style made her feel and wanted to share that confidence and freedom with other women.

“Being a woman, I know how easy it is to be judged for expressing your sensuality. My goal was and still is to create a safe environment where women can apologetically express their sensuality. It’s so important to me for women to be a part of a community where they can let go for an hour or so and have that escapism that we all deserve. It’s not just about dancing, it’s about sisterhood.’

Geo teaches 10 to 15 private lessons and 5 Open Classes a week. She teaches Monday Heels & Commercial, Tuesday Heels, Wednesday Heels in Bristol and Sunday Beginners Commercial Open Class.

Geo is the Director of Heels Empowerment and continues to grow the brand by hosting workshops, events & charity balls. She is extremely passionate about giving opportunities to women and for sharing the love of dance with the rest of the queens.

Today, Heels Empowerment runs multiple weekly classes across Cardiff and Bristol and has grown into a team of six instructors — all committed to empowering women through movement. Geo is also the founder and owner of Empower Studios and Empower Entertainment.

Martha

Senior Instructor & Manager

Martha started dancing when she was 8 years old after her football and horse riding days escaped her. She studied ballet, tap and modern through childhood and went on to take a degree in contemporary dance where she graduated from USW with a first class Arts degree. Martha started Heels Empowerment classes in February 2020 after meeting Geo on a freelance shoot and instantly fell in love with the style.

“It was the first time I could let myself go!”

Alongside Amber, Martha became one of the first instructors for Heels Empowerment and has loved teaching ever since. Martha now teaches the Beginners Plus course & the Intermediate Plus course in Cardiff, as well as the Beginners & Intermediates courses in Bristol. Her passion for teaching has grown tenfold over the years and she is driven by the sheer joy of bringing the low of dance within a powerful community to other women.

“I never saw myself as a teacher, especially not of dance, but I wouldn’t change it for the world!! The last 5 years has shaped me into the best version of myself and teaching the queens is my favourite part of the week. Seeing them challenge themselves and express themselves in every class is why this job is the best in the world. I am incredibly lucky to be part of such an incredible team of like minded women, who I truly class as my family.”

Martha is now the Manager and a Senior Instructor for Heels Empowerment. She is immersed fully into the business and aids the running and development of classes, workshops, the website, the studio and more.

Amber

Instructor

Amber started dancing at the age of three, training at Mandy Morris School of Dance until she was 16, when she pursued professional dance training. She spent 5 years in full time training at Rubicon Dance and Northern School of Contemporary Dance, before returning to Wales to begin her career.

She is now a freelance dance artist and teacher, performing across stage, film and festivals. She is very grateful that her work continues to take her around beautiful parts of Wales, the UK and internationally.

Amber first joined Heels Empowerment as a client in February 2020, being drawn in by the energy of the classes from videos online. She fell in love with heels for the way it made her feel confident, empowered and sexy, and stepped into the role of instructor in October 2021. Amber now teaches Technique Tips & tricks, Intermediate Course and Interfoundation Open Class on Wednesdays.

She is deeply passionate about dance as a means of self expression and liberation and is dedicated to creating a joyful, supportive environment where people can let go and embrace their sensuality.

‘’Guided by my core values of empowerment, accessibility and joy / play, my role as a teacher goes beyond teaching movement. It’s about offering people the space to connect with themselves and the permission to tap into their power and passion from within – and I’m so lucky to regularly witness the magic that happens when we in class do so!’’

Ysabel

Instructor

Ysabel has been dancing since the age of three and has trained in a wide variety of styles throughout her life. She grew up at Rubicon Dance in Cardiff and later studied ballet at Cathays Community Centre before returning to join Rubicon’s flagship contemporary and street crews, Nubrico and Nuworx. During this time, she performed and competed in numerous shows and competitions and trained with many teachers across styles ranging from locking and musical theatre to African dance. Dance intensives became a regular part of her school holidays, shaping her commitment to training.

After graduating from university in 2018, Ysabel returned to Cardiff and discovered Heels Empowerment in 2019 eager to explore a new style and reconnect with dance. She trained weekly in Heels and Commercial, and in 2022 she began her instructor training.

Many clients have seen Ysabel’s full journey with Heels Empowerment, and she hopes to inspire other women to build confidence and grow in their own way. Her favourite part of teaching is watching students support each other and celebrating the joy and pride that comes from taking on new routines together.

Ysabel currently teaches the weekly Beginner Open Class on Thursday evenings, as well as the Interfoundation Course. She deeply values Heels Empowerment’s safe, inclusive environment and the strong sense of community within the studio. Having watched the company evolve from its early days, she is incredibly proud to be part of the team and to contribute to a space that makes such a positive impact on women’s lives.

Tean

Instructor

Tean began dancing at the age of 4 and trained for most of her life at Starlight Dance Company where she trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Contemporary. As she grew older, she continued her training with Jacqui Everson at Gemini School of Dance, where she developed her technique and expanded her experience across different styles.

Throughout Tean’s dance journey, she has had the opportunity to perform in numerous pantomimes, compete in dance competitions, and even dance on the West End.

Tean started commercial classes with Heels Empowerment in May 2024 and after consistent training in both Heels and Commercial, Tean joined the team as an instructor in July 2025.

‘I was driven by my huge love for dance and exploring styles that pushed me outside of my comfort zone—especially heels. Being surrounded by such incredibly talented women has been a huge part of why I love being part of this community. Supporting one another and celebrating each other’s journeys makes it such a special place.

Teaching is something I truly love! I’m passionate about creating a space where women feel safe, confident, and empowered while sharing their love for dance.

I’m currently covering classes across all levels, and absolutely loving meeting new queens every week!

Emma

Instructor

Emma began dancing at age three, training in ballet and expanding into modern, jazz, and tap. She excelled in RAD and ISTD exams, competed in regional festivals, and performed in numerous musical productions and pantomimes at the Bristol Hippodrome.

At 18, Emma moved to London to pursue full-time training in dance and musical theatre at Stella Mann College of Performing Arts, earning a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts. She trained with renowned West End performers and leading commercial choreographers, gaining invaluable industry experience.

After graduation, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the performing arts industry, prompting Emma to return to Bristol. She began teaching at her former dance school, passing on her passion to the next generation. Emma’s drive for growth led her to Heels Empowerment, where she instantly connected with the community.

Her instructor journey began at the 2023 charity ball, when Geo invited her to join the Heels Instructor piece—her proudest moment! Since then, she’s been teaching two classes a week at Heels Empowerment: Total Beginners course and Beginners Technique, Tips & Tricks. Emma loves helping the queens break free from inhibitions, grow in confidence, and have fun in a supportive environment. She believes anyone can dance, and nothing brings her more joy than seeing the queens grow in self-belief. It’s an honour to be part of their journeys, and she’ll always be their biggest cheerleader!

Emma is beyond excited to continue her journey with Heels Empowerment and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
